Arugba Osun is a play written by Otun Rasheed that evolves around a princess Moyosade who has been and is still the Arugba. The whole play discusses the Arugba Osun and the Osun Osogbo festival.
Arugba Osun gives a detailed answer to the question of if westernization clashes with tradition, what would happen? Otun Rasheed with his master piece says It becomes a contest between man and the gods.
Fabiyi and Moyosade are in love, Awujola is seeking revenge, Fagbamila and other chiefs are preserving culture promoting peace, Kabiesi is confused, the whole town is in turmoil, Yeye Osun alongside Adimula and other Chief priests are battling with unseen forces.
This play is a representation of African Total theatre as it is an assemblage of dance, music, mime, chant, drumming and many others. It also features brilliant and fine actors like Steven Chuks, Balogun Zaynab, Seun Richards, Ibrahim Bukola, Onyeka Ikechukwu, Ige Ene, Kareem Abiola, Akinsiku Olakunle, Adeniran Olamilekan, Ladejobi Temilade, On I Ayomide, Christopher Momoh, Akanbi Blessing and many others.
